| Supplementary Learning Support |

Wellsford School hosts two Supplementary Learning Support Teachers (SLST), one full time and one part time. SLST's are itinerant teachers who travel around local schools supporting the teaching and learning of students with some form of special learning need.
A committee, made up of local principal's, RTLB's, and Special Education Co-ordinators, receive applications made on behalf of students by schools. They consider the applications against specific criteria to determine if students can receive the service. Out of all those who do meet the criteria the committee then prioritise which students receive the support first, based on the severity of need, and the service begins.
Students are supported with direct, one on one teaching with the SLST, once each week. The teacher is supported with resources and lesson ideas which they take with the students during the rest of the week, until the SLST's next visit. In this way the student and the teacher receive the best support possible.
