Attendance
Regular attendance at school is important for our children’s learning, wellbeing and their futures. We work with our families and attendance officer to support families in ensuring our tamariki can access school. Every day at school matters and ideally we expect all children to attend regularly. Just one day off a fortnight adds up to almost a month of lost opportunities to learn, make friends and grow.
Regular attendance = 1 - 4 days absent on average per term
Irregularly absent = 5 - 8 days absent on average per term
Moderately absent = 9 - 15 days absent on average per term
Chronically absent = 15 days+ absent on average per term

If you know you're going to be away from school for 3 days or more during term time (holiday within or outside NZ, hospitalisation, etc), Please email the Principal at principal@wellsford.school.nz to discuss.
